(senior)

programme associate architecture

Do you have at least 4 years of experience in the practical or theoretical field of architecture? Are you passionate about international architecture with a focus on social and ecological responsibility? Do you excel in navigating the world of successful changemakers? And do you thrive in project-based work, where organizing and coordinating are key components, and where culture, connection, and innovation are central? If so, this position could be a perfect fit for you!

In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the prestigious Ammodo Architecture Awards (AAA), which were introduced for the first time last year. The Ammodo Architecture Awards recognize socially and ecologically transformative architecture projects and their creators. The prize money is invested by the winners in new work – Ammodo architecture makes international projects visible, puts them in the spotlight, shares knowledge, and creates a network.

Ammodo
Ammodo promotes the development of art, science, and architecture. Expanding knowledge and generating new perspectives in these fields contribute to addressing contemporary challenges and advancing society. They have developed three programmes that foster and support research and projects in art, science, and architecture. Last year, Ammodo expanded its activities into architecture, a discipline with significant potential for societal impact. Ammodo Architecture's primary goal is to encourage excellent architecture with social and ecological responsibility worldwide.

Ammodo currently employs twenty-five people. The architecture team consists of a Director of Architecture, a Programme Manager, a Programme Expert, a (Senior) Programme Associate (vacant), and a Junior Programme Associate. It is a small team with big ambitions, committed to making the architecture programme a lasting international success. The work environment is highly enjoyable: there is a strong sense of social engagement, abundant expertise, and a great emphasis on quality and substance. Ammodo's office is located in a beautiful historic building on the Westergas site in Amsterdam.

Ammodo Architecture Awards & knowledge platform
The primary goal of the Ammodo Architecture Awards is to promote excellent architecture with a social and ecological responsibility worldwide. To support social and ecological development across a wide field, 26 awards are given annually in three categories, and we continue to develop an international knowledge platform. The awards are distributed across six regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, North and Central America, South America, Southeast Asia, and Oceania. Each region has local ambassadors and a wider group of well-informed professionals. The network identifies projects within the three categories for consideration for an award. Additionally, the Ammodo Advisory Committee is responsible for the final selection of the 26 award winners. This committee consists of six members, including a chairperson, all of whom hold prominent positions in international social and ecological
architecture or related fields. For more information about Ammodo Architecture and the awards please visit: Ammodo Architecture Awards.

Knowledge Platform
The international knowledge platform is a work in progress, aimed at facilitating the exchange of insights on social and ecological architecture among various stakeholders, including architects, urban planners, landscape architects, universities, NGOs, clients, end users, and communities. The platform will feature a website with an extensive archive of award-winning projects, along with podcasts, interviews, architectural theory, films, documentaries, and more.

(Senior) Programme associate for Architecture
In this role you will work towards the flawless organisation of the annual Ammodo Architecture Awards. You will be responsible for providing organisational support to the Ammodo architecture programmes and manage one or two regions and maintain relationships with the ambassadors in those regions. You will also be responsible for tracking incoming
submissions, managing the sourcing process, overseeing the nomination procedure, and sending out relevant communications to all stakeholders in these regions.

A key part of this role involves supporting the communication efforts for this annual project. You will work closely on developing communication plans for the AAA awards and contribute to strategies that leverage social media to boost the visibility of Ammodo Architecture and the AAA awards. You will also play a key role in ensuring the Ammodo Architecture website remains aligned with the architectural policy.

Additionally, you will contribute to the further development of the knowledge platform, which offers ample opportunities for creative approaches and where there is still plenty of room for ideas and their implementation. Organising a large international event is also a possibility.

Given the small size of the team, you will contribute both at a tactical and practical level to the seamless organisation of the annual Awards. This position is ideal for someone with a strong passion for social and ecological architecture, who enjoys working within an international context and wants to be involved in the field of architecture in a unique and innovative way. As part of the team, you will work closely together towards a large-scale, annual event: the prestigious Ammodo Architecture Awards.
